Trainee CAD Technician

We are looking for a Trainee to join our busy Engineering Design team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in our design office using 3D Solidworks software in a supporting role to our existing design team.

The position could potentially suit a recent school or college leaver, or someone with an interest in mechanical engineering and design. Strong ability in both Maths and Science are important, as well as experience with design software although training can be provided.

 

Duties to Include

  • Maintaining and developing new parts manuals.
  • Assisting in developing interactive manuals for the dealer portal area of a new website.
  • Translating CAD drawings into graphics for in-house applications.
  • Supporting the Design team by adding detail to existing CAD designs.
  • Assisting the design team with modifications and amendments to existing designs.

Duties and responsibilities will grow in complexity over time as the successful applicant’s knowledge and skillset develops.

 

Skills Required

  • IT skills – working knowledge of MS office suite of programmes
  • A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in a relevant field. For example, NVQ or diploma Level 3 or equivalent / T Level / BTEC Diploma or 2 A Levels (Maths and Physics minimum grade D or above).
  • Knowledge and previous experience with CAD software would be preferred.

 

Personal Qualities   

Presentable, punctual with good attention to detail. You will need to integrate into a busy office so the ability to fit into the office environment as quickly as possible is essential.

You will need to be a good team player, have the drive to improve, learn new skills, be self-motivated and enjoy new challenges.
